Work with a Satellite Expert
Overview
Ranch operations face unique challenges when it comes to monitoring livestock and assets across vast, remote territories. Traditional GPS systems that rely on cellular networks or base stations leave ranchers with costly infrastructure requirements and frustrating coverage gaps.
Pulsar provides a complete satellite-based tracking solution designed specifically for ranchers who need reliable monitoring without the limitations of ground-based networks. With over 20 years of satellite expertise, Pulsar delivers solar-powered animal ear tags and asset trackers that connect directly to the Globalstar satellite network, providing continuous visibility regardless of terrain or location.
The Pulsar Animal & Asset Tracking System includes comprehensive cloud-based management through the Pulsar Tracking Portal, offering real-time herd movement data, geofencing alerts, and activity insights accessible from anywhere.
Animal Tracking
Pulsar Animal Tracking Tags attach securely to standard ear tag mounting systems without compromising animal health or comfort. Each lightweight, rugged tag is powered entirely by sunlight, eliminating battery replacements and maintenance requirements.
Tags provide up to four GPS position reports per day as standard, with the ability to increase reporting frequency based on operational needs. Data transmits globally through the reliable Globalstar satellite network, ensuring continuous visibility for cattle, goat, and sheep operations.
Asset Tracking
Expand monitoring capabilities beyond livestock to include critical ranch assets. Pulsar asset trackers monitor tractors and implements, water tanks and feed stations, fencing trailers and ATVs, farm vehicles across multiple sites, and livestock hauling equipment.
Everything integrates into the same Pulsar Tracking Portal, providing unified visibility and management for your entire operation through one intuitive dashboard.
Common Use Cases
Geofencing & Herd Management
Set virtual boundaries for bulls and exotic animals. Receive instant alerts when animals move outside designated areas. Monitor grazing patterns and prevent overgrazing through automated location tracking.
Health & Wellness Monitoring
Track animal behavior patterns to identify health issues early. Monitor access to water sources and detect unusual movement that may indicate sickness or distress.
Banking & Loan Collateral
Provide real-time visibility of herd location and count for financial institutions. Manage loan collateral remotely, eliminating costly travel requirements for physical verification inspections.
Carbon Credit Tracking
Monitor grazing patterns and land use for carbon credit programs. Track rotational grazing and land management practices without host-based devices, providing documentation for environmental credit verification.
The Pulsar Advantage
True Global Coverage
Direct-to-satellite connectivity eliminates dead zones. Monitor your operation anywhere on Earth without relying on cellular towers or local infrastructure.
Lower Total Cost
Most base-station GPS systems cost 2-3x more per head when infrastructure, maintenance, and support are factored in. Pulsar delivers better coverage at lower cost.
Maintenance-Free Operation
Solar-powered tags eliminate battery replacements and charging requirements. Designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions for years of uninterrupted performance.
Single Management Platform
Monitor all animals, assets, and data through one centralized dashboard. Real-time position tracking, geofencing alerts, and usage monitoring in one place.
Consolidated Billing
One monthly invoice for all services with cost center and departmental breakdowns. No fragmented subscriptions or complex billing structures.
Premium Support
24/7 technical support, white glove installation and RMA services, plus dedicated customer success teams for proactive account optimization.
